We are looking for a highly skilled Staff Product Designer with extensive experience in the financial services sector and a strong background in B2C product design. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of hands-on design expertise, leadership abilities, and a strategic mindset to drive the development of innovative solutions. This role requires the candidate to serve as both a player and a coach, leading by example while also guiding and mentoring cross-functional teams and workstreams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end product design process, from concept ideation to implementation, ensuring the delivery of intuitive, user-centric solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, and other stakeholders to define product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and analysis to gain insights into user behaviors and preferences, leveraging findings to inform design decisions.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate design concepts and solutions.
  • Establish and maintain design systems, patterns, and guidelines to ensure consistency and scalability across products and platforms.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and feedback to junior designers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on design best practices, industry trends, and emerging technologies, advocating for innovation and excellence in design.
  • Lead multiple cross-functional teams and workstreams simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and resources to meet project deadlines and objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve design challenges, address feedback, and iterate on designs based on user testing and feedback.
  • Champion a user-centered design approach, advocating for the needs and preferences of our customers throughout the product development lifecycle.

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in product design, with a focus on financial services and B2C products.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects, including web and mobile applications - and full stack skills from UX/Strategy to Interaction and Visual Design
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or similar.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams and manage cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience leading and managing design teams or workstreams, with a proven track record of delivering successful outcomes.
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, usability best practices, and interaction design concepts.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and processes.
  • Passion for innovation, creativity, and continuous learning in the field of product design.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and comfortable with ambiguity, preferably within a fintech or financial services organization.
