Software Development Expert (Temp)

Over the past year, we’ve experienced tremendous growth. More than 10,000 companies have replaced CVs with our assessments to screen candidates in an unbiased and data-driven way.

We're seeking a short-term contract subject matter expert to help us develop a test covering problem-solving for software developers, which will be used to evaluate candidates applying for developer positions that require strong problem-solving skills. We expect expert software developers to be proficient in using a range of new and exciting tools, such as Intelligent Assistants for Development, Automated Code Generation Tools, Automated Testing Tools, and general large language models.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A HOURLY SHORT-TERM CONTRACT POSITION FOR AROUND 30 HOURS OF WORK OVER A 4-6 WEEK PERIOD. THIS IS NOT A FULL-TIME POSITION.

The project consists of three main sections:

1. Creating a test structure, where you determine the 3-4 main skill areas to test and break those down into 4-6 specific categories of skills to include in each.
2. Writing 104 questions based on that test structure. For each question, you'll have to write a brief rationale for the correct answer.
3. Working with a third-party expert to ensure all technical details are correct.

The test aims to evaluate candidates with intermediate-level professional experience with problem-solving using AI tools for software development.

The test will be made primarily of scenario-based questions in a multiple-choice format. These questions will be based on real-life scenarios. That means we're not looking for theoretical or standard textbook questions that only show how "familiar" someone is in theory but questions that can evaluate actual practice through solving problems.

All questions submitted must be your own, original work. All material is checked for originality and copyright issues.

The project usually takes around 30 hours, distributed across 6-8 weeks, and weekly deliverables are expected. The project can move faster than proposed if you have the time available.

• You are a deep subject-matter expert in problem-solving for software developers with extensive experience in the field and a proven track record of creating appropriate material.
• You are a keen user of various AI productivity tools, leveraging them frequently to solve software development problems.
• You have strong English writing skills since this project involves much writing that must be clear and precise.
• You are eager to collaborate with our content experts to jointly create a high-quality, valid, reliable, and fair test
