Overview

With that growth comes our need for a Product Engineer to join the R&D arm run by Tyler Weitzman, Speechify's Co Founder. Your job will be building MVPs for new products based on Speechify's proprietary technology and AI partnerships.

This is a key role and ideal for someone who is innovative, enjoys building experimental products from scratch in a small team, enjoys high-pace environments, passionate about owning product decisions and has experience building and scaling complex engineering systems.

• Reporting directly to Tyler Weitzman, Co Founder of Speechify and head of our AI Team
• We are seeking a highly innovative Product Engineer with a love for creating web applications 
•  As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for assisting in the creation of Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) that showcase our groundbreaking ideas and solutions.
• Your role will involve leveraging your expertise in React, TypeScript, and rapid prototyping to bring our vision to life in record time.
• Ability to work independently without a lot of guidance
• Passion of ownership in building your own web applications

• A passion for product development and coding
• Proven track record of building and shipping MVPs or prototype applications in a fast-paced environment.
• Extensive experience with React and TypeScript, demonstrating mastery in developing scalable and performant web applications.
• Strong understanding of web technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript frameworks/libraries.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment, embracing ambiguity and adapting quickly to changing priorities.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a creative and innovative approach to software development.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members from diverse backgrounds.

Preference to:

• Contributions to open-source projects or a personal portfolio showcasing innovative projects.
• Passion for UX/UI design and a keen eye for aesthetics and user-centric design principles.
• Experience with backend development using Node.js, Express, or similar technologies.
