Full Stack Engineering Lead

The founding Engineering Lead is a crucial position that will directly influence Birches Health’s operational success by owning initial iterations of our platform. We’re looking for a person who will partner with company leadership to define, develop, and iterate on a novel healthcare platform that helps gambling addicts get the care they need.

• Own end-to-end implementation of Birches Health’s platform from scoping of initial features to launch of final product
• Effectively navigate build vs. buy decisions for short and long-term tradeoffs
• Develop and iterate on a user-facing, two-sided platform (for both patients and clinicians)
• Write clean, scalable code
• Work closely with our founder to make key platform decisions, iterate on company roadmap, and expand the technical capabilities and team
• You’ll emerge as our first tech leader who is equally comfortable leading a team, supporting junior engineers, and reviewing code

Who You Are:

• Full Stack engineer with 4+ years experience architecting, developing and testing code end-to-end
• Architect the technology infrastructure for the platform, including scalable HIPAA and SOC2 compliant data storage and processing
• Experience working with APIs and relational databases
• Mastery of JavaScript or TypeScript and React (or another modern, enterprise level web or app development software language) required, knowledge of Python preferred
• Exceptional understanding of design systems with an eye for visual experience
• Working knowledge of CI/CD, feature flags, and API first architecture
• You have an eagerness to build technical solutions to business problems and can thrive in dynamic environments
• Experience in healthcare (or other industries with complex regulatory and compliance frameworks) or at early stage companies
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical counterparts
